"This trip was different than any other of my previous 9 trips to Ontario. This winter I drove to South Carolina to purchase my first boat and a new door was opened. I decided I wanted to do a trip with out my dad and not run cameras for Joe to see if i could do it myself. Me and my best friend left the night of my 21st golden birthday drove all night slept at the launch for an hour and boated 5 fish the first day! The week brought a huge cold front dropping air temps to 48 and water down to 58 we pushed on got to fish with Forest Huset and Haley Huset fishing 2 or 3 ppl everyday we put 23 muskies in the bag and lost another 7. This was by far the best week of my life I met so many new people and am leaving with so many memories but most of all I proved to myself that i can run my own boat and be very successful. I have so many people to thank that helped me get ready for this trip and people that have taught me so much about the great sport of muskies fishing over the years . I'll be back next year to the place we now call Jurassic Park!" - Doug Wegner |
