Joe Henry posted on Lake of the Woods, Lake of the Woods County

"Walleye season open until April 14th and the pike season is open all year at LOW and great reports. Lots of hot spots this week filling limits of walleye, sauger, and perch. From Arnesen's, 16 mile, Long Point, and Zippel Bay try 19-22 morning/evening and 31-33' during day. Pink/white, pink/gold, bubble gum, and green/white the hot colors tipped with minnow. Morris Point and the Lighthouse Gap up to the Canadian border line has been producing in 22-26 during day or 15-20' morning/evening. Use gold or pink tipped with minnow. Mornings and evening bite better. No vehicles are on the lake, snowmobiles and ATV's allowed. Pike fishing good in 8-10' near Zippel Bay and Graceton. Try 9-12' moving east towards Bostic Bay, 4 Mile Bay and the Gap. Tip-ups with live sucker minnows or dead herring/ciscoes. Some resorts still pulling out fish houses daily. The Rainy River is open approximately 3 miles East of Birchdale, with open water showing at the Franz Jevne Rapids. Fishing good in shallow pockets 10-12 feet using gold or glow jig tipped with minnow. Up at the NW Angle, good fishing continues. Snowmobiles with snow on ice the best. Good numbers of walleyes, saugers, perch and pike. Crappies being caught just over border. Good fishing is happening. Work through resorts. For resort info, www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com/Lodging.
