2.22.16 Sunset Lodge Fishing Report Up at the NW Angle, we have about 18-25 inches of ice on the Minnesota side where our houses are at and an average of 18 inches up on Ontario where we are fishing for crappies. We've got about 7-8 inches of snow on top of the ice. On the Minnesota side, we are having to work harder than we typically do. Electronics are helping to improve success. Pink and orange jiggin' raps have been good. Also, buck shots and smaller jigging spoons. Pink, gold, green, red and orange colors have been the best. The best luck we're having is in 25-28 FOW. Our houses are about 7 miles south of the lodge. On the Ontario side, our guided crappie trips are still producing limits. We are using Tungsten jigs with a mustache plastic and a piece of minnow tail. Our current crappies spots are about 12-18 miles north of Sunset Lodge. We got to try out the new "tickle sticks" with 13Fishing this week! We've got some mid-week availability remaining for our Winter 2016 season, call if you are able to visit in the next month! Until next week, good fishing! Sunset Lodge
